2010-10-20  SHORT FILM THE POND WINS TWO AWARDS AT THE 2010 NEW HAMPSHIRE FILM FESTIVAL

THE POND, a narrative short film, has won the juried 2010 Best New Hampshire Short Award and overall 2010 Best Dramatic Short Award at the 10th Annual New Hampshire Film Festival this past weekend.  These awards come on the heels of the film’s first award at the Rhode Island International Film Festival.

Writer/Director Dan Hannon attended the homecoming New Hampshire screenings accompanied by several members of the film’s cast and crew.  As one of the New Hampshire Film Festival’s founding directors, Hannon felt doubly as honored to have the film recognized for its achievements by this year’s juries and committees.

“This was such a momentous year for the festival, and all of us involved behind the scenes raised the bar especially high for the 10th anniversary.  Each and every year the event has successfully taken a step forward, but the difference between this year and last is miles!” Hannon said.  “To already have the excitement of the festival itself buzzing around in my head, and then to win not one but two awards right here in the midst of my friends and family for ‘The Pond’ is a surreal feeling.  I’m a tall guy as it is, but I’m walking even taller right now,” he laughed.

THE POND is a moving and surprising story about a young woman distraught over the death of her husband, who sets about scattering his ashes in a place they had both loved and in doing so makes a discovery for which no one could ever be prepared.  The richly cinematic film was shot entirely in the picturesque state of New Hampshire and represents the directorial debut of Hannon, who also penned the original screenplay.

Joining the writer/director are the recognizable onscreen talents of Alicia Witt, currently on NBC’s “Friday Night Lights,” David Morse, most recently seen in 2010 Academy Award® Best Picture THE HURT LOCKER, and Todd Rotondi, who made a splash as Jack Kerouac in 2010 Sundance Film Festival hit HOWL.

Editorial for THE POND was done by Michael Bernard at Fuel Creative in Portsmouth, New Hampshire.  Fuel Creative provides end to end solutions in all phases of digital media creation and distribution.

2009-10-01   Identity Modification

There has been some re-shuffling over here!  As of midnight, October 1st, DVD Fuel is now Fuel Creative.  Why you ask?  It's really not complicated and didn't involve a vision in the desert or anything.  It just seemed that DVD Fuel didn't accurately describe everything that went on at 3 Congress Street.  And we are hoping this will result in fewer elderly people calling this winter and leaving us messages that their furnace is out.

So what happens to DVD Fuel?  It's not going anywhere.  It will remain as a sub-brand of Fuel Creative and will focus solely on DVD, Blu-ray and CD duplication services.
